So apparently someone’s decided to “take out” Anthony Albanese.
Yeah. Because when history writes the great revolutions, it’ll say:
“In 2025, a bloke named Norman from Queensland almost changed the course of democracy — using Facebook comments and two Tooheys.”
That’s where we’re at, folks.
The Prime Minister is dodging threats from people who can’t dodge the “are you still watching?” screen on Netflix.
The Great Australian Revolution (Now in Comment Form)
The news broke: 40-year-old Norman Dean Lake allegedly threatened to kill the PM online.
Not in a secret bunker.
Not from an underground militia.
From Facebook.
In broad daylight.
With his real name.
Because nothing says “I’m coming for the establishment” like clicking “Post” under your aunt’s Minions meme.
This guy didn’t even bother with a fake account name like “FreedomWarrior69.”
He went full real-name-energy. That’s not bravery. That’s Centrelink-grade stupidity.
The Security Response
Naturally, the AFP stepped in. Because you can’t have the Prime Minister of Australia checking his notifications like:
“@NormanLake40 commented: ‘Oi Albo, watch ya back, mate.’ 😡🔫”
Now Albanese has to change his schedule.
Can’t go to the Bunnings sausage sizzle.
Don’t risk the hardware aisle.
Can’t even tweet about the Bulldogs game without someone shouting, “STAY SAFE, KING!”
Somewhere, the security detail is watching TikToks about Norman and muttering, “I joined to stop terrorism, not this.”
The Keyboard Warrior Olympics
This isn’t a political statement.
It’s not rebellion.
It’s Facebook Dad Rage — that weird cocktail of talkback radio, nicotine withdrawal, and “back in my day.”
You know the type:
- Always starts a sentence with “I’m not racist, but—”
- Thinks every politician is a puppet of the UN.
- Ends every rant with “Wake up, sheeple!” before falling asleep in a recliner.
Norman’s “threat” wasn’t an act of rebellion.
It was an act of public stupidity.
You can’t overthrow the government when your Wi-Fi keeps dropping out.
The Prime Minister’s Dilemma
Now Albo has to keep a straight face through this circus.
He’s out there saying, “We must lower the temperature of public debate.”
Meanwhile, the temperature’s being set by a bunch of shirtless blokes yelling into their phones about chemtrails.
Imagine being the Prime Minister and realising:
You don’t have to fear dictators, you have to fear Dazza in the comments section.
The man’s leading a country where half the population thinks “policy debate” means calling you a pedo on Facebook.
Democracy, But Make It Dumb
We used to debate ideas.
Now we threaten to kill people over petrol prices and footy sponsorships.
This is what democracy has become:
- A screaming match between strangers with profile pictures of Harley-Davidsons.
- A nation where “disagree” means “I’m coming to your house with a laminated copy of the Constitution I printed from Reddit.”
If Henry Lawson could see us now, he’d write a poem called The Dumb Country.
Norman’s Court Appearance
Picture this: Norman walks into court wearing a tap-out shirt and a neck tat that says “FREEDOM.”
The judge asks, “Did you threaten to kill the Prime Minister?”
He says, “It was satire.”
The judge sighs.
Half the internet cheers.
And the other half’s arguing about whether it’s covered under “free speech.”
Free speech isn’t a shield for death threats, Norman.
It’s a shield for saying dumb stuff without going to jail.
Big difference.
The Rant Bit
This isn’t politics anymore.
It’s performance art.
It’s anger with a data plan.
Everyone’s mad, no one’s informed, and the nation’s collective IQ is being held hostage by comment sections.
The Prime Minister can’t fix housing or energy because he’s too busy dodging emojis with gun barrels.
Meanwhile, half the country’s convinced they’re living under dictatorship —
while typing it on Facebook, on a smartphone, in an air-conditioned house, during a public holiday.
Yeah, mate. Truly oppressed.
The Punchline
So, Norman — you didn’t start a revolution.
You started a record.
You’re now officially Australia’s dumbest freedom fighter.
Anthony Albanese will survive this — not because of the police, not because of security,
but because every time a would-be assassin in Australia gets mad,
they have to stop mid-rage to microwave another Four’n Twenty.
This isn’t the Roman Empire.
It’s Bogan Gladiator, and we’re all trapped in the Coles car park watching the spectacle.
So here’s to Norman — patron saint of the stupid.
Proof that in modern Australia, the loudest people always have the worst spelling.
And to Albo — hang in there, mate.
The revolution’s delayed — the Wi-Fi’s out again.
